Track everything with online stats
In the process of setting up your website you should add a way to track your website visitors habits, including how they got to your site, where they go once they get there, how often they come back and a thousand other things. Sounds like a pretty daunting task doesn’t it? Well, thanks to some sweet web tools, it’s as easy as cutting and pasting code into your website.
We use these tracking tools:
Google Analytics
Since Google is the #1 search engine, it’s a no-brainer to include their stats tracking program which is called
Google Analytics, into all of your websites. Plus, it is super dynamic and only seems to get better and better over time. Visit google and signup for a free account.
Stat Counter
Another tracking tool we use is Stat Counter. Stat Counter provides excellent graphs like this one to help you better understand your website visitors. Free and paid accounts available.

Click Tale
ClickTale is a sweet online tool that records the movements of each visitors individual movements throughout your site. Login to your account, setup a recording schedule, cut and paste code into your website, then review all your videos. Each video shows your website and the mouse moving around, clicking
links, rollovers, etc. The information you gain from watching Click Tale videos is really valuable and allows you to fine tune your website to get people clicking where you want them to click and going where you want them to go.
Trial and paid accounts available.
