Testing
How do I know what part of my website works best?
Do you know how to do efficient website testing and tracking? Testing and tracking are done to determine what works best for getting your visitors to buy products and services, sign-up for newsletters, click on links, or whatever it is that you would like your website visitors to do. If you set up good tests, track the data, and analyze the results, visitors will soon be doing what you want.
Using ClickTale for Website Stats
ClickTale is a sweet online tool that records the movements of each visitor's individual movements throughout your site. Login to your account, setup a recording schedule, cut and paste code into your website, then review all your videos. Each video shows your website and the mouse moving around, clicking links, rollovers, etc. The information you gain from watching ClickTale videos is really valuable and allows you to fine tune your website to get people clicking where you want them to click and going where you want them to go.

How To Do Website Tracking - StatCounter
Even though you may have thousands of people visiting your site every day, this doesn't mean that your site is successful. We are saying this, because you need to identify WHERE your visitors are spending their time, WHAT pages are driving them away, and the HOW they are finding you through search engines and keywords that they are using.
StatCounter gives you real-time access to all of this data. They'll also let you track the length of time people stay on your sites, the dominant keywords that are driving most of your traffic, and geographic information about your visitors. You'll also be able to get a presentation of top-level stats like page loads, and unique and returning visitors. Overall, it's a great way to get a feel for your site and learn where alterations need to be made.
We will be documenting even more website traffic and ranking tests here, so stay tuned!
