FileZilla is a free file transfer protocol (FTP) program that is free and easy to download:
- The first thing you need to do is click on this FileZilla free download link, download FileZilla 3.0, save it to you your desktop and run it from there.
- The installation process that comes next will take from 20sec to 2 min to download, depending on your internet connection. During installation it will ask you to choose a language. After this, install all the necessary features and follow the rest of the installation.
- Next, you run FileZilla and create a connection to the site by clicking on the site manager icon, “new site” and then following the steps. You have now connected to FileZilla!

To run the FileZilla file transfer software, you will need to open it and then follow these steps:
- When open, you will see 6 windows, the first widow is under the username and password slot and shows the progress of your work.
- On the left side of the screen, there are two windows. The first one shows your folders, while the second shows the files in side of these folders.
- On the right side of the top window are the folders from your server. The second one in the file part of the folder (in the bottom window) is the progress window that shows the files you are transferring. If you are doing more than one at a time, there are also boxes that will show you login status.
